I led a one-week Creative Partnerships project to create a Shadow Puppet Performance with Year 5 at All Saints School in Suffolk, baseed on The Ramayana.

Multiple visual arts techniques were used. 

After reading the story the participants sketched the charaters and completed large collages. As a class they storyboarded, then divided up into teams to tell short sections of the story. They created their own shadow puppets and tested ideas using table top shdow theatres and angle poise lamps. They created their own shadow puppet theatre in the main hall and covered it with colourful prints. Rehearsals followed and then each team presented their sections with music and sound effects to the rest of the school and invited parents and friends.
